Sister Rose Maureen Dormer, S.C., (Margaret), a member of the Sisters of Charity of New York for 71 years, died May 10 at Kittay House, the Bronx. She was 91.
Born in Shamokin, Pa., she worked for two years as a bookkeeper before entering the Sisters. She earned her bachelor’s in history from the College of Mount Saint Vincent and her master’s in counseling and psychology from Manhattan College.
Her only assignment in the Brooklyn Diocese was as principal of St. Mary Star of the Sea, Court St., Carroll Gardens, 1963-64.
She is survived by brother, Kyran Dormer, of Hamilton Square, N.J.
Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, Yonkers.
