SFC and SFX Form New Partnership
St. Francis Xavier Elementary School, Park Slope, and St. Francis College, Brooklyn Heights, recently announced their new partnership.
A red-and-blue St. Francis College banner was unveiled on the elementary school’s facade and a blessing of the partnership was conducted outside the main entrance of the school building last month.
Sister Kathleen Sullivan, C.S.J., St. Francis Xavier principal, and Brendan Dugan, college president, were present for the blessing, which was attended by the elementary school children and other representatives from both schools.
This partnership will allow both schools to be connected on various levels. The college will provide educational services, workshops for parents, access to technology and a mentoring program.
“We are so proud to be part of this new endeavor and we know how beneficial this will be to our students,” said a spokeswoman for the elementary school.
My favorite memory of high school….
“is every conversation I’ve ever had with my friends. My 2011 classmate, Peter C., said it best: ‘Sum up four years of awesomeness in afewlines? No way!’ God bless the Class of 2011!”— Daniel Scarpati, Christ the King Regional H.S., Class of 2011
“… our overnight retreat to the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception during our junior and senior years. Being able to spend three days there with all my classmates was an experience that brought us together in a new way, through spiritual aspects and social aspects. The brotherhood that we share through our time at Cathedral was able to grow because of these retreats, and the fun that we had will stay with me forever. Thank you Cathedral Prep for everything!”— Christopher Keller, Cathedral Prep Seminary, Class of 2011
