Ashley Eivers and Chelsea Perez, students from St. Agnes A. H.S., College Point, placed third at the Nassau Community College Science Fair last month. The theme of this year’s fair was “What Matters?”

Eivers and Perez tested 25 students, giving each student a deck of flash cards to see if a color cue could help the brain better process information. Through their experiment, they concluded that color was a distraction and the color cues actually made it harder to remember the information on the flash cards.
