The Ladies Guild of Sacred Heart of Glendale held a baby shower to benefit Bridge to Life. Bridge to Life supports women, children and families with material needs and encourages respect for all lives. This worthy charity was the recipient of over 100 items including baby clothes, layette items, toys, diapers, bottles and formula. Some of the members of the Guild, and participants in the parish’s ARISE program, crocheted and knitted beautiful baby sweaters, hats and blankets.

Attention couples interested in natural methods of fertility awareness. The Diocese of Brooklyn offers Natural Family Planning training in the Billings Ovulation Method.

Developed by Australian physicians Drs. Evelyn and John Billings, this is a natural method of fertility awareness which helps couples understand the woman‘s natural patterns of infertility and fertility within each cycle, based on cervical mucus changes. Knowing these changes, the couple is able to use the method to effectively avoid, postpone or achieve pregnancy at any period of the woman’s reproductive years.
