Over 500 diocesan Jornadistas embarked on their yearly Holy Saturday Caminata bringing their march of faith to Rockaway Beach. This year’s theme, “Go and Make Disciples of All People That No One Should Be Left Behind,” was brought to life as the Jornadistas continue to support their brothers and sisters whose lives were devastated by superstorm Sandy. The Hispanic youth and their mentors started their journey at St. Rose of Lima Church. Father Wladyslaw Kubrak, parochial vicar, thanked the youth for bringing their ministry to the peninsula. “We thank you, for you truly are the faces of the disciples of Jesus Christ,” he told those gathered, ready for a four-hour procession through neighborhoods still visibly suffering Sandy damage.
