Roberto Varela, the brother of Deacon Jaime Varela, special assistant to Bishop DiMarzio, died Dec. 22. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Dec. 28 at Our Lady of Presentation Church, Brownsville. Burial was in St. Raymond’s Cemetery, Bronx.
