Praying for the Unborn

March for Life participants make their way up Constitution Ave. to the Supreme Court building in Washington, D.C., Jan. 24, 2011.  Tens of thousands of people from across the United States, including several busloads from Brooklyn and Queens, are expected to gather in the nation’s capital on Monday, Jan. 23, for this year’s March for Life, which marks the 39th anniversary of the disasterous Roe v. Wade Supreme Court ruling that led to legalized abortion.   Reporters from The Tablet and NET television will be in Washington to cover the March.

  1. For the past 8 or 9 years I’ve attended the March for Life. What has amazed and inspired me is the fact that the March is comprised of mainly young people (many from high schools and colleges). While I’ve heard of some schools in the Brooklyn Diocese attending, I believe that there should be more encouragement for participation. In fact I’ve heard of Catholic schools in other areas closing to allow participation. Maybe the Diocese should try that next year.
In addition, your statement under the picture indicates that “tens of thousands of people” participate, that is incorrect. It’s more like hundreds of thousands. Don’t become like the liberal mainstream media and downplay the event.

  2. It would be nice if our local Bishops had the same dedication and resolve as these marchers. Why are the Priests of the diocese both Brooklyn Queens as well as the NY diocese not instructed that they are to withhold Communion from pro death politicians such as Governor Cuomo!
