Immaculate Conception parish, Astoria, conducted a Pilgrimage of Mercy in accordance with the Pope’s Jubilee Year of Mercy on Saturday, June 11. Msgr. Fernando Ferrarese, pastor, led a procession from the parish church to the neighboring Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, where pilgrims entered the church through the designated Holy Door. Parishioners attended a Benediction Service to pray for The Holy Father, Pope Francis. Parishioners wrote down their acts of mercy on slips of paper and placed them inside the Vessel of Mercy that was carried in procession to Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Msgr. Ferrarese, blesses the congregation with the Blessed Sacrament at Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
