Catholic War Vets Seek ‘Young Blood’ to Carry on Vital Services

The Catholic War Veterans & Auxiliary of the United States worry there is no one to continue their work in the future. The group’s leaders want to recruit younger vets who can keep services going once the current class of Vietnam-era vets is no longer active.

Halloween’s Not Canceled at Immaculate Conception in Astoria

With Halloween festivities changing due to the pandemic, the Home Academy Association (HAA) at Immaculate Conception Catholic Academy (Astoria) made sure their students could still have a semi-normal experience. So, they came up with the idea to hold an outdoor “Trunk-or-Treat” event that involved dressing up in masks and costumes, plus trick-or-treating at tables in Immaculate Conception’s church parking lot.

Astoria Lecture Series Teaches Spiritual Tools of St. Ignatius

This fall, Immaculate Conception parish, Astoria, hosted a lecture series featuring Fordham University professor Father Joseph W. Koterski, S.J., as the guest speaker. The series extended over three weeks and focused on the life and spiritual journey of St. Ignatius of Loyola.
