Peruvian Catholics celebrated the Lord of Miracles with a Mass and street procession at St. Sebastian’s, Woodside. Auxiliary Bishop Octavio Cisneros was the main celebrant.

Jorge Dominguez, Editor of Nuestra Voz, the monthly Spanish publication of Desales Media Group, served as Padrino for the occasion.

The Lord of Miracles, is an 17th century painting of Jesus that is venerated in Lima, Peru. It is the work of an unnamed African taken from what is now Angola to Peru as a slave. It is named because it survived an earthquake in Peru. Its feast is the main Catholic celebration in Peru and one of the largest processions in the world. The event was organized by the Brotherhood of the Lord of Miracles of Queens County.
