The Dorothy Bennett Mercy Center is celebrating two significant milestones this month: its 10th annual fundraiser as well as its 20th anniversary year.
Founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1995, the Clinton Hill/Bedford-Stuyvesant-based center offers continually evolving programs to meet the needs of children and families in the Fort Greene and Bed-Stuy areas. These programs address concerns ranging from violence and drugs, to unemployment, discrimination, illiteracy and lack of affordable housing.
