FLUSHING — Thanksgiving and Sept. 11 are linked together at an annual Mass Holy Cross H.S., Flushing, holds close to Thanksgiving every year, a liturgy that honors the 17 alumni who died during the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001.
This year’s Mass, held on Nov. 21 in the school’s auditorium, was celebrated by Auxiliary Bishop Raymond Chappetto, who spoke of another theme of the Mass — the connection between the Catholic faith and the service of first responders, again remembering the sacrifice that many first responders made on Sept. 11…

Attended this Mass, was a beautiful Service, celebrated by Aux. Bishop Chappetto. Thank You to the Entire Staff at Holy Cross HS. As an alum and Member of the NYPD I could not be more honored and humbled by the reception given the Uniformed Members present. Thanks too the Students. Respectful, kind and thoughtful of those Alum who perished on 9/11 and the current and retired UMOS. Was fortunate to attend Holy Cross (’75) will always cherish my time there, brief and fleeting as it was.
