Only in Print: High School Seniors Regret Missed Events

BENSONHURST — Students and teachers in Catholic high schools around the Diocese of Brooklyn adapted well to the switch to online education, made necessary by the coronavirus pandemic, according to school officials.

Unfortunately, seniors missed out on milestone events like proms and activities that normally highlight the end of their four years of high school education.

Marissa Amendolia, a senior at Fontbonne Hall Academy in Bay Ridge, lamented missing out on “College Decision Day,” an event in which seniors announce their choice of college. “We would all be coming to school wearing shirts with our colleges on them,” she said…
