Sister Rosellen Ann McCann, C.S.J., a Sister of St. Joseph, Brentwood, L.I., for 52 years, died March 16 in Maria Regina Residence.

She entered the
congregation in 1965
from the parish of St.
Francis of Assisi,
Crown Heights. She
earned a bachelor’s
degree in geology
/anthropology and
then education from
 Hunter College, followed by master’s
degrees in school counseling from St. John’s University, Jamaica, and administration/supervision from Fordham University.

Formerly known as Sister Mary Ellen Rose, she taught at St. Anne, Brentwood, 1967-69; St. Rose of Lima, Parkville, 1969- 76; Holy Family, Fresh Meadows, 1976-79; Bishop Kearney H.S., Bensonhurst, 1979-85; and St. Joachim, Cedarhurst, 1991-2004.

She was principal of Our Lady of Lourdes, Bushwick, from 1985 to 1991.

Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Brentwood.
