Sister Julie Marie Romaine, C.S.J., a member of the Sisters of St. Joseph, Brentwood, L.I., for 65 years, died Jan. 29.
She entered the congregation in 1948 from St. Lawrence parish, Sayville, L.I., and earned a bachelor of business administration degree from the St. John’s University School of Commerce.
She served in St. Francis of Assisi, Crown Heights, 1950-53; St. Camillus, Rockaway Beach, 1953-61; St. Frances de Chantal, Wantagh, L.I., 1961-69; St. Francis de Sales, Belle Harbor, 1969-71; Academy of St. Joseph, Brentwood, 1971-79; and Sacred Heart, Cutchogue, L.I., 1979-88.
She was payroll manager in the C.S.J. Financial Office, 1988-97, and assistant superior at St. Joseph Convent, Brentwood, 1997-2010, before retiring.
A Mass of Christian Burial took place in Sacred Heart Chapel, Brentwood, Feb. 2. Interment followed in Calvary Cemetery, Brentwood.
