Obituary: Anne J. Pitaro Was Longtime Diocesan Educator

OBIT_APitaro_cmykLongtime Catholic school educator Anne J. Pitaro, 85, of Greenwich, Conn., died Feb. 8 from complications of lymphoma. 
She worked in the Catholic schools of the Diocese of Brooklyn for 29 years as both teacher and principal at the former St. Elizabeth School in Ozone Park. 
Born in Ozone Park, she graduated from Nativity B.V.M. School; Bishop McDonnell H.S., Crown Heights; Hunter College, Manhattan; and Fordham University, where she earned a master’s degree in education.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Nicholas L. Pitaro, retired New York Supreme Court Justice; five children: Edmund, Angela, Regina, Nicholas, and Gregory; and eight grandchildren: Adrian, Margaret, Nora, Elizabeth, Paul, Gabriel, Isabel and Nicholas.
