Sister Brigid Marie Crowe, C.S.J., a member of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph, Brentwood, for 61 years, died March 10.
She entered the congregation in 1953 from St. Ephrem parish, Dyker Heights.
She earned her bachelor of business administration degree in education from St. John’s University, Jamaica, and a master of library science in education from the State University of New York.
She served at Ascension, Elmhurst, 1954-57; St. Patrick, Long Island City, 1957-58; St. Teresa of Avila, Prospect Heights, 1958-62; St. Mary’s, Maujer St., Williamsburg, 1962-66; St. Vincent de Paul, Williamsburg, 1966; St. John of God, Central Islip, L.I., 1966-67; SS. Cyril and Methodius, Deer Park, L.I., 1969-72; St. Ann, Flushing, 1972-76; and Immaculate Conception, Jamaica, 1976-2009.
In 2009, she retired to Stella Maris Convent, Rockaway Park, where she stayed for a year before moving to St. Joseph Convent, Brentwood. In 2011, she moved to Maria Regina Residence.
A Mass of Christian Burial took place in Maria Regina Chapel, Brentwood, March 13. Interment followed in Calvary Cemetery, Brentwood.
