Sister Anne Marie Dean, CSJ, formerly Sister Mary Michaeline, died Nov. 15 in Maria Regina Residence, Brentwood, in the 59th year of religious life.
She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph, Brentwood, from the parish of Our Lady of Victory, Floral Park, in 1957. She attended Brentwood College. In 1983, she received a masters in Theology from Immaculate Conception Seminary, Huntington.
She taught at St. Rose of Lima, Parkville, 1960-65; Epiphany, Williamsburg, 1965-66; Colegio Santa Teresita, Ponce, Puerto Rico, 1966-67; Academia San Jorge, Santurce, Puerto Rico, 1967-68; St. Teresa of Avila, Crown Heights, 1968-70; Colegio San Conrado, Ponce, Puerto Rico, 1970-76; and Holy Family H.S., South Huntington, L.I., 1976-81.
She then worked in youth ministry and as the director of religious education at St. Elizabeth Center, Melville, L.I., 1981-88); as a member of the Rockville Centre Office of Catechesis, 1988-2006; and in faith formation at St. Joseph parish, Ronkonkoma, 2006-14.
Burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Brentwood.
