A Mass of Christian Burial for Sister Georgia Brezler, D.C., was celebrated Jan. 23 at the DePaul House Chapel, Albany.

She died Jan. 19, at St. Louise Residence, Albany. She was 79 years old and a Daughter of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul for 58 years.

She earned her Juris Doctorate from St. John’s University, Jamaica, in 1993.

After local teaching assignments and mission work, she served as local community superior in Bayside from 1984 to 1987, and Brooklyn, 1988-2012.

During her years in Brooklyn, she specialized in immigration law and advocated for those living in poverty and those without voice.

Burial was in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands, N.Y.
