The New York City Basketball Hall of Fame hosted its 26th annual induction ceremony Sept. 16 at the New York Athletic Club, Manhattan.
The eight-member class included Willie Hall, Mike Davis, Geoff Huston, Sam Worthen, Chamique Holdsclaw, Johnny Mathis, Bob McKillop and Dr. Richard Lapchick.
Hall attended Archbishop Molloy H.S., Briarwood, before heading to St. John’s University, Jamaica.
Holdsclaw played her high school hoops at Christ the King R.H.S., Middle Village, before becoming a six-time WNBA All-Star.
Dr. Lapchick is a 1967 graduate of St. John’s and currently serves as the director of the DeVos Sport Business Management Program at the University of Central Florida, Orlando, Fla. He’s been named “one of the 100 most powerful people in sport.”
