Catholic Charities of Brooklyn and Queens will conduct a ribbon-cutting to mark the opening of the Msgr. Anthony J. Barretta Apartments at 2365 Pacific St., Brownsville, on Thursday, Sept. 26, at 10 a.m.
This new and contemporary affordable housing development features 64 units. The project, developed by CPC Resources (CPCR) and Catholic Charities, comprises eight separate four-story buildings using CPCR’s successful “In-Fill Model” design.
It was financed by the N.Y.C. Department of Housing Preservation and Development, New York Homes and Community Renewal, The State of New York Mortgage Agency, Chase and The Richmond Group.
Msgr. Barretta, who died in 2003, was pastor emeritus of St. Leo’s parish, Corona, and a former board member of St. Vincent’s Hall, Brooklyn. He was awarded Catholic Charities’ Ubi Caritas Award in 1975 for his work among the poor and needy.
