The parish Rosary Society awarded the four teens Student of the Year Awards.

The honorees were: Amarachi Ajoku, who is attending Archbishop Molloy H.S., Briarwood; Andiea Smith, who is attending Humanities and Arts H.S., Jamaica; Katrina Nangle, who is attending Benjamin N. Cardozo H.S., Bayside; and Diamond Moody, who is attending Townsend Harris H.S., Flushing.

Ajoku thanked God, her parents, and the Rosary Society for helping her earn the award. She promised that the honor will not mean the end of her efforts.

“I’ll still keep working hard to hopefully inspire the other little kids in my church,” she said.

Moody said the awards served as encouragement to continue her work.

“I was proud not only because I received the award but also proud of the thought that even after the award, I will continue striving for success,” she said.

  1. It is commendable that Our Lady of Light Parish acknowledged the achievements of these young ladies. I am elated to be the parent of one of the honorees. Keep up the good work!
