Father Dwayne Davis, parochial vicar at St. Thomas Aquinas parish, Flatlands, led a full-day tour of seven Holy Doors of Mercy at churches in Brooklyn and Queens. The doors were specially designated as the sites for special indulgences during the Jubilee Year of Mercy that concludes this Sunday, Nov. 20.
On their Holy Door tour, pilgrims visited St. Gerard Majella, Hollis; St. Joseph’s Co-Cathedral, Prospect Heights, where rector, Msgr. Kieran Harrington, spoke to the visitors; Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Astoria; and Our Lady of Lebanon, the Maronite cathedral in Brooklyn Heights, where Msgr. James Root, rector, addressed the group.
Finally they returned to St. Thomas Aquinas, also a site of a Holy Door, for an evening reception.
