Maimonides Medical Center recently celebrated student volunteers with a special Recognition Ceremony.
The Recognition Ceremony and Breakfast celebrated the contributions of 128 student volunteers, which included an impressive 14,000 hours of service assisting Maimonides staff with clerical tasks, foreign language interpretation, support services and recreational activities for patients.
“The valuable contributions made by our student volunteers have had an enormous impact on the Maimonides community,” said Ken Gibbs, Maimonides president and CEO.
“Student volunteers not only gain valuable work experience, but also make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and families we serve.”
New Utrecht High School student Anthony Fusco, and James Madison High School student Alexander Vakhler, spoke on behalf of all student volunteers and reflected on the meaningfulness of their experiences at Maimonides.
