Letters to the Editor

Letters to the Editor, Week of September 5, 2026

Greetings From the Diocese of Palm Beach!

Dear Editor: It was a joy to speak with The Tablet, the Catholic newspaper of my beloved Diocese of Brooklyn, and to share a little about these first months of my Episcopal Ministry here in the Diocese of Palm Beach (“Full of Joy, Bishop Rodríguez Details ‘Amazing’ First Six Months in Florida,” Aug. 29).

A special thank you to John Lavenburg for taking the time to speak with me and for sharing my journey with the readers of The Tablet. I am truly grateful for this opportunity and for the warm welcome I have received here in Florida.

Thank you, The Tablet, for continuing to be a voice for the Church and for our Catholic community!

A Local Scout’s Impactful Service Project

Dear Editor: This caught my eye because I saw the names of two friends who perished on Sept. 11, 2001 (“Brooklyn Scout’s Community Project Aims to Preserve 9/11 Memorial Wall,” Aug. 29).

Thank you for keeping their memories alive, Giancarlo.

Celebrating Dolly Parton, May She Rest In Peace

Dear Editor: May Dolly Parton rest in eternal peace (“Dolly Parton’s Gospel of Giving: Faith Guided a Life of Music and Generosity,” story, page 18).

She brought so much love, kindness, happiness, and entertainment into our lives throughout the years.

Her beautiful voice and laughter will forever be remembered.

Honoring Sister Thea Bowman’s Inspiring Legacy

Dear Editor: I am very moved and impressed by the outstanding work of Katie Vasquez in our video interview centered on Servant of God Sister Thea Bowman and my artwork
inspired by her (“Inspired By Her Life and Legacy, Brother Mickey Tells Sister Thea Bowman’s Story Through Art,” Aug. 29).

Christine Persichette also did a beautiful job with it in print.

Thank you so much for your help in spreading the word about my favorite Servant of God, whose message we desperately need to hear in these troubled times.

Donation Will Help Sisters Serve Others

Dear Editor: What an outstanding gift of generosity (A Generous Helping: Food Founder Gifts Sisters $1.5 Million,” story, page 4).

The Sisters of St. Joseph of Brentwood will be able to do so much with this money to serve others and thereby serve Christ.
