Thankful Our Diocese Celebrates Latin Mass
Dear Editor: From time to time in these pages, people write in to offer support or some issue they have with the Traditional Latin Mass (“As Diocese Moves to Site Model, St. Cecilia to Cease Latin Mass,” Oct. 11).
I myself attend both forms of the Mass, and believe that all Catholics should have that right as well. Thanks to our bishop, we still can do so here in Brooklyn.
Bishop Robert Brennan has set up two churches where the Mass will be offered. We are lucky; other dioceses have totally banned it or have relegated it to a small chapel.
I encourage anyone who has not attended the TLM to do so. Don’t be scared of the Latin. They have a missal with your native language.
Thanks again, Bishop Brennan.

Quite an Accomplishment
Dear Editor: We are so proud of the work both Roseanne Seminara and Mary Whelehan (“Pilgrimage Through All Brooklyn Churches Inspires Book Project,” Oct.11) have accomplished.
Can’t wait for the book.

Election Day Thoughts
Dear Editor: Election Day is fast approaching and voters should be aware of the vast differences in the candidates positions on important issues in the race for mayor.
While he was governor, Andrew Cuomo gave us no cash bail, which virtually releases criminals back onto the street before they even go to court.
He pushed for abortion on demand up to the baby’s due date with the passage of the Reproductive Health Act in 2019. After it became law he told pro-life people in New York state to leave because they did not belong here anymore.
These are not the positions a thoughtful Catholic would have; in fact many would consider them evil.
Zohran Mamdani, the Democrat Socialist candidate, completely supports and will pay for transgender surgery for minors, in addition to other young people from different parts of the country who may come to NY for this surgery. Mamdani is also for abortion during the nine months of pregnancy and believes that prostitution should be legal. He also plans to reduce our police force. This is exactly what we don’t need.
Neither of these candidates have the correct and moral answers to the problems our city has that are getting worse day by day.
Curtis Sliwa is really the only candidate that can be relied on to be a courageous and trustworthy mayor. He is the only mayoral candidate that supports qualified immunity for the NYPD.
This will return the protection they need to perform their jobs. He also believes in parental rights and would be more moderate on abortion.
He will be a strong voice against antisemitism in our streets and in the universities.
Curtis Sliwa didn’t wait to become mayor to start fighting crime in our streets and subways; he’s been doing it for over 45 years. He is by far the best candidate for mayor of New York.

Viva Cristo Rey
Dear Editor: I’m so happy that more people, especially our youth, get to read and learn about such a faith-filled young man and saint — St. José Sánchez del Rio (“¡Viva Cristo Rey! The Dying Words of The Boy Saint In the Cristero Rebellion,” Oct. 11).
Que Viva Cristo Rey.
