Dear Editor: Patricia Kenney (Jan. 22) suggests that The Tablet should have requested proof before printing my letter concerning my very serious allegations against Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good. Here’s my evidence:
According to Catholic World Report (The Catholic Con Regroups, Dec.18, 2014), George Soros-supported Catholics in Alliance has refined its successful strategies of the past in its attempts to convince Catholic voters that the pro-abortion Democratic nominees for public office in 2016 will do more to reduce the number of abortions than pro-life Republicans will. It is a strategy that has worked well for the organization in recent years, convincing many Catholics that Barack Obama was the “real” pro-life presidential candidate in 2008 and 2012.
In the past they have sponsored tours by dissident priests “Called to Disobedience” (Wikipedia) and according to an article on the San Francisco Archdiocesan website (Sept. 26, 2014), a coalition of four dissident Catholic groups (Catholics in Alliance were included) calling itself “Equality Blessed” have gone after Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone for his leadership against the redefinition of marriage and his participation in the March for Marriage in Washington, D.C. last year.
And while Ms. Keeney is entitled to her own opinion, facts are stubborn things.
