Let Them Speak: Reflection on Holy Week 2017

By Havana Rosario

“This made me realize that even though I may be scared for the future, God has a plan for me, and I should have faith in His plan just like Jesus did.”

This year, I feel that I have been impacted differently by Holy Week because I have been more selfless and more forgiving, as Jesus would have been.

I realized, while we reviewed the Stations of the Cross in school, that perhaps Jesus is more like us than we like to think. Jesus was scared, even though He knew that His death was part of God’s plan for Him.

This made me realize that even though I may be scared for the future, God has a plan for me, and I should have faith in His plan just like Jesus did.

Jesus’ last words, found in Luke 23:34, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing” especially impacted me, and those words made me realize that I should be forgiving, like Jesus, of everyone who may be cruel to me.
