Dear Editor: This madness that is currently going on regarding removing statues of famous people who have something in their past that does not meet with the lofty standards of those liberals among us is ridiculous.
As Jesus said to the crowd who wanted to stone the prostitute, let he among us who has not done wrong, cast the first stone – or in this case, break the first statue.
We would be very hard pressed to find an individual who is famous or not who does not have a skeleton or two in his closet. Even our beloved SS. Peter and Paul did things that weren’t very saintly.
I say leave the statues alone. Remember and emulate the good that these people have done and learn to forgive them for the things which only prove that they were human.
