How to Spot a Human Trafficking Victim

Here are some red flags to look out for that may indicate someone is a victim of human trafficking:

>> Having an older guardian, partner or sponsor who monitors their movements

>> Living with their employer or older guardian, partner or sponsor

>> Living in poor conditions, usually many cramped in one space

>> Inability to speak in private or alone

>> Their responses seem scripted, mechanical, or rehearsed

>> Their employer is holding their documentation

>> Signs of physical abuse

>> They seem skittish, submissive, and fearful to disclose their situation

>> Fearful of authorities

>> Very low pay, if any

>> Disheveled appearance
