Dear Editor: Thank you, Father David Bertolotti, for that wonderful letter (Oct. 14) explaining the Courage Apostolate that serves people with same-sex attraction.

It’s a beautiful thing that the Pope speaks of mercy but he rarely speaks of the grace of chastity. It can confuse the faithful. Both his predecessors, Saint John Paul and Pope Benedict, spoke of self-mastery achieved with God’s Grace. We are all called to chastity even at times in marriage.

Look at the ravages of the sexual revolution abortion, promiscuity, divorce, disease. I expect our current Pope to not only speak of mercy and forgiveness but also to teach us about the great gift of chastity.
