Dean Marlowe, a 2010 graduate of Holy Cross H.S., Flushing, was a member of the Carolina Panthers 2016 Super Bowl squad, though he was listed as inactive for the game itself.
The 23-year-old rookie played quarterback and safety for the Knights before shifting to the defensive side of the ball full-time while in college at James Madison University, Harrisonburg, Va. He appeared in four games this season for the Panthers.
“Holy Cross took me from Pop Warner and paved the road to the NFL,” Marlowe said. “Dream bigger – go to Holy Cross.”
Marlowe’s Panthers lost to the Denver Broncos, 24-10, on Feb. 7.
