For the first time since the Bay Ridge Storefront Art Walk (SAW) was created in 2010, it collaborated with Fontbonne Hall Academy to provide a young artist the opportunity to showcase her artwork during its annual interactive art walk along 5th Avenue.

Artists were selected by a jury based on artistic merit, feasibility and the ability to engage with the Bay Ridge community. Senior Lauren Silverman was the winning artist.

SAW member Jeannine Bardo said in a statement that working with Fontbonne students in tandem with their teacher Lauren Gueli was a great experience.  She said each artist produced a portfolio-ready piece that was thoughtful and of a high caliber.

The eighth annual art walk will take place in Bay Ridge until June 24, along 5th Avenue from 68th Street to 84th Street.
