Dear Editor: After First Communion Mass at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Brooklyn Heights, the pastor, Father Edward Doran, challenged us to be fruitful vines (following the papal directive about no boring homilies!), read up about our church, take a Tablet home and read it!
How could you deny such enthusiasm? I remembered The Tablet from visiting my Aunt Anne in Bellerose years ago! Enjoyed the paper and especially the article on the Easter art contest.
It reminded me of Hallmark contests of ancient times. I wondered if the diocese was going to make Easter cards or note paper with the winning artwork.
While liking them all, the second-place high school artwork by Miss Park really was eye catching. Her work truly caught the wonder of that great moment. Just a thought about the note paper (or calendars!) It would be a shame not to share all that inspiration!
