One-of-a-Kind Education in Sheepshead Bay
Unique – that is the best way to describe St. Mark Catholic Academy in Sheepshead Bay.
The student body is made up of children who hail from over 57 unique countries. Extracurricular activities – like student government, newspaper and sports – allow students to express their unique, God-given talents and abilities. Students are provided with unique opportunities, like the High School Advantage Program at St. Edmund Prep and Stages on the Sound, an artists-in-residence program. While proud to be unique, the academy is still a close-knit community, united in its diversity.
St. Mark’s students explain it best…
“A community is a place where you feel like you belong. It’s a place where people work together, respect each other, and share unbreakable bonds. Saint Mark Catholic Academy is a community. It’s a community of love, faith, and friendship. With an extraordinary staff, hardworking students, and amazing teachers, Saint Mark Catholic Academy is my home away from home. Although it’s a place where students come to work with numbers, understand literature, analyze history, and study science, we all learn so much more.
“We learn how to be good friends, respect others, and succeed through determination and perseverance. Our school community is united through the love that we share every day and the things we are taught on a regular basis. We are taught to be kind and respect one another; Saint Mark Catholic Academy thrives because of its different cultures and races. In the end, friendship and cooperation are what tie us all together, and together, we are all one extraordinary community.”

“SMCA is a great community. The principal and staff guide us in the right direction to be successful in school and in life. The teachers always make sure that the students understand what’s being taught, and they are always there to help us if we need anything.
“St. Mark helps us grow in our faith when we go to Mass every week. SMCA encourages students to become leaders, grow spiritually, and succeed in life.”
