An Education Second to None

Located in Bensonhurst, Bishop Kearney High School fosters the intellectual, emotional, moral, physical and spiritual growth of young women through a well-rounded curriculum, along with varied extra- and co-curricular activities, thereby nurturing each student’s full potential through self-discovery.

Bishop Kearney is the only high school in New York City to partner with 21st Century Fox on its student-run TV station, including $100,000 in equipment and professional training.

STEM, Medicine, Fine Arts

STEM is an integral part of the academics at Bishop Kearney. Students have the option to earn college credit in a medical program, which includes internship opportunities at Maimonides Medical Center and Calko Medical Center.

Bishop Kearney offers a comprehensive music and art program, which includes studio art, vocal music and instrumental music, and is proud to have the only all-female marching band in Brooklyn.

Extracurricular activities range from award math teams, to step, basketball, volleyball, cheer and swimming teams, to the student-run television station, WBKS.

Bishop Kearney offers a four-year guidance and college-counseling program in which students work with their college counselor in small groups and individual settings. The program has achieved tremendous success: 100 percent of the Class of 2017 are continuing their educaton in college; 85 percent of the Class of 2017 earned over $30 million in college scholarships.

Perhaps the best explanation of the Bishop Kearney advantage comes from the students themselves.

“As a current junior, I look forward to becoming an alumna of Bishop Kearney in June 2019,” says Grace Aulisa.

“I know that my classes and experiences are preparing me for college and beyond. The opportunities available to Kearney students are second to none.

“This year, my classes in the new STEM wing, as well as my participation in the trip to Europe have developed the skills necessary for me to be successful in an increasingly global and technology-driven workforce.”
