Holy Cross H.S., Flushing, is proud to announce three winners from the annual Project Hope contest, sponsored by The Moreau Province of the Congregation of Holy Cross.

There were over 300 entries from nine Holy Cross sponsored high schools throughout the country. The topic of this year’s contest was Pope Francis and the legacy he will leave the Roman Catholic Church.

Entries came in many forms, such as essays, poems, short films, artwork, spoken word, and musical submissions.

From the Flushing school, Joseph Scibilia was awarded a third prize for his short film. His schoolmates, Patrick Quinn and Daniel Bosko, also participated with artwork and an essay, respectively.

The schoool’s religion teacher, Rosemary Burchik, was also honored as the teacher with the most Project Hope submissions among her students. A full list of winners and their submissions can be found online at holycrossbrothers.org.
