Chrism Mass

Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio was joined by seven bishops, and about 300 priests, 100 deacons, and 200 members of the laity at the annual celebration of the Mass of Chrism April 3 at St. James Cathedral-Basilica, Downtown Brooklyn.

During the liturgy, Bishops DiMarzio blessed the holy oils that will be used to administer the sacraments in parishes throughout the diocese in the coming year.
Jeanne Walker, of St. Jude parish, Canarsie, helped present the oil of the catechumens to Bishop DiMarzio.
