Cathedral Prep Honors Distinguished Alumni

Cathedral Preparatory Seminary held its annual Alumni Reunion and Immaculata Award Ceremony at the Immaculate Conception Center in Douglaston.  In addition to celebrating the 50th Anniversary Class of 1962 and the 25th Anniversary Class of 1987, Cathedral Prep granted its highest honor it can bestow to Msgr. John Maksymowicz, ’65, Secretary to the Apostolic Nuncio in Washington, D.C., and former Cathedral Prep faculty member and spiritual director, and Stephen Somers, ’78, President of Vigon International and a former member of Cathedral Prep’s Financial Development Board.  Pictured, from left, are:  Father James Kuroly, ’98, director of recruitment and apostolic works; Father Bill Sweeney, ’73, alumni association president; Steve Somers, ’78; Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio; Msgr.
