Over the Brooklyn Bridge

Communion and Liberation sponsored its 17th annual Stations of the Cross procession from Brooklyn, over the Brooklyn Bridge, to Ground Zero.  Cardinal Timothy Dolan joined the group for opening prayers at St. James Cathedral-Basilica, Brooklyn.  Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio accompanied the procession over the bridge, leading one of the Stations at mid-span.

Carroll Gardens Procession

Sacred Hearts-St. Stephen parish, Carroll Gardens, conducted its annual Good Friday procession, with a statue of the Sorrowful Mother and a replica of the Body of the crucified Jesus.  The walk has been talking place in the predominantly Italian community for more than 60 years.

Chrism Mass

Bishop DiMarzio Baptizes 60 at Flushing Parish

Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio celebrated the Easter Vigil at St. John Vianney Church, Flushing, where he baptized and confirmed 60 new Catholics, all of Chinese descent.  Among the concelebrants was Father Antonius Ho, CSJB, administrator.  Assisting at the altar was Deacon John McGreevey.
