St. Joseph’s University nursing student Damita Smith was awarded the Julia Cuttino Bennett Scholarship by the foundation named in her honor, a nonprofit that works to empower and uplift the next generation of nursing students.
Fifteen students from Good Shepherd Catholic Academy — about half of the entire eighth grade — gave up one of the last days of their summer vacation to come to school on Thursday, Aug. 21, to spend the morning helping get the school ready for the opening of classes on Sept. 3.
