“We’re not girls, we’re athletes,” was engrained in my brain ever since my middle school basketball coach made us say it out loud after practice. Coach Allen would say, “You’re not girls, you’re what?” and we would shout, “Athletes!” and then head to the locker room.

More than 400 entries poured into The Tablet’s newspaper offices competing for a winning spot in The Tablet’s annual Keep Christ in Christmas art contest. Students submitted colorful pieces of artwork from Catholic academies, high schools and churches from around the diocese.

Around the School Bell: The 12th Mile – A Walk Honoring Brother Leo Richard
High school seniors and faculty from Archbishop Molloy H.S., Briarwood, took part in their annual 12 mile walk called the “World Trade Center Walk.” The school set a new record of participants with more than 70 seniors trekking to Lower Manhattan from Queens.
