Cardinal William H. Keeler, Baltimore’s 14th archbishop, who was an international leader in Catholic-Jewish relations and the driving force behind the restoration of America’s first cathedral, died March 23 at his residence at St. Martin’s Home for the Aged in Catonsville, Md. He was 86.
Czech Cardinal Miloslav Vlk, who washed windows and ministered underground during communism, died of cancer March 18 in Prague at the age of 84.
Rosa Hernandez of Stanhope, N.J. died March 18 at home. She was 93.
Sister M. Rosela McFadden, I.H.M., of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died March 19 at Our Lady of Peace Residence in Scranton, Pa. She was 92.
Father Guy Morgan, O.F.M., 90, a professed Franciscan friar for 67 years and a priest for 62, died March 10 at Bay Pines Veterans Hospital, Fla.
Sister Therese Mary Waughon, B.V.M. (John Francine), 86, a member of the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary for 68 years, died March 15, at Mount Carmel, Dubuque, Iowa. Burial is in the Mount Carmel cemetery.
Sister Margaret Beaudette, S.C., (Sister Marie Gerard), a member of the Sisters of Charity of New York for 69 years, died March 12 at Mount St. Vincent Convent. She was 89.
Sister Catherine Mezzacapo, C.S.J., a Sister of St. Joseph, Brentwood, L.I. for 80 years, died in Sacred Heart Convent, Hempstead, L.I., on Feb. 19.
Sister Catherine Atkins, C.S.J., a Sister of St. Joseph, Brentwood, L.I., for 52 years, died Feb. 16 in Southside Hospital.
Sister Ave Maria Maickel, C.S.J., a Sister of St. Joseph, Brentwood, L.I., for 71 years, died Feb. 26 at Maria Regina Residence, Brentwood, L.I.
