Co-Cathedral Hosts ‘Rock-A-Thon’ for African Missions

A chilly Sunday morning wasn’t going to stop the determined volunteers who were rocking outside of St. Joseph’s Co-Cathedal, Nov. 4. That’s because for the second year in a row, the Prospect Heights faithful were going to put on a show for those who were willing to give a donation for the missions in Africa.

“Thank you, young people from our fourteen Catholic schools and religious education programs for having a missionary heart,” Auxiliary Bishop James Massa said at the beginning of his homily. He was the main celebrant of the Mission Sunday Mass at the Cathedral Basilica of St. James on Sunday, Oct. 27.

Renovated Sunset Park Parish Center Rededicated

The nearly 500 children preparing for their sacraments at St. Michael Church now have a renovated and central place to learn the Gospel and prepare to commune with God Himself.
