The annual Bishop DiMarzio Golf Classic, July 2, raised $100,000 for the retirement funds for women and men religious of the diocese. Sister Maryann Seton Lopiccolo, S.C., episcopal delegate for religious, accepted the check on their behalf. The guest of honor for the event was Michael Long, chairman of the NYS Conservative Party. The winning foursome was from Hoffman Equipment, consisting of Steve Krines, Terry O’Shea, Sal D’Angelo and Brian Eversly. Second place was captured by the Catholic Cemeteries Foursome: Steve Commando, Ed Dupre, Randy VanYahres and Bill Farren. The longest drive for men was by Mike Faltischek, and the closest to the pin winner was David Warshauer. Deborah Romano captured both longest drive and closest to the pin among women contestants. Guest appearances came from former NY Met Bud Harrelson, and TV and film actor, Arturo Lopez.
