Undoing a Chemical Abortion

It is sometimes possible to reverse a chemical abortion if a woman comes to regret her decision soon after taking the abortion pill.

Parish of His Youth Imbued an Irish Spirit

I am Irish in spirit, for the beautiful Irish people nurtured me at St. Patrick’s School, Kent Ave., in Clinton Hill section of Brooklyn, 1959- 1967. It was a time of “Irish Eyes Are Smiling,” “Harrigan,” and “That’s An Irish Lullaby” for the Irish Sisters of Mercy loved to sing and to stage beautiful musical plays each year to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

More Wonderful Homilists

Dear Editor: Father Michael Carrano of Our Lady of Hope Church, Middle Village, gives the best homilies. They are brief, to the point and articulate. He gets the message across and one never forgets what was said.

No Party Is Pure

Dear Editor: In response to the letter from reader John Secreti (Feb. 28), he is correct, let’s stop kowtowing to the PC and “unite in living and proclaiming the Gospel.”

That’s why I do not support the “let’s make war not peace” party, the “let the poor and less fortunate fend for themselves because I want to keep my money” party.

Casting Shadow on Sex

Dear Editor: Why is the National Center on Sexual Exploitation calling for a boycott of the recently released film “Fifty Shades of Grey?”

“The lie is that ‘Fifty Shades’ is about a love affair,” says Dawn Hawkings, the center’s executive director. “The truth is that it’s about coercing a young woman for sadistic sex. It romanticizes domestic abuse.”

Big Hit in Jamaica Parish

Dear Editor: As is often the case, a small mention of someone of note shows up in a back page of a publication. In the Feb. 7 issue of The Tablet was a mention of a once well-known baseball coach being honored by the N.Y.S. Hall of Fame. His name is Joe Austin, once one of the highest regarded men in local baseball.

Sister Had the Touch

Dear Editor: Sister Charles (Sister Ann Fitzpatrick, C.S.J.) (March 2, 2013) was my first-grade teacher at St. Augustine’s in 1956 and I loved her.

Little Sisters, Big Hearts

Dear Editor: I am connected with Queen of Peace Residence in Queens Village which was featured in the Tabet (Jan. 31).
