St. John Vianney’s Relic Tours Brooklyn, Queens

The relic of St. John Vianney’s incorrupt heart visited the Diocese of Brooklyn April 9-10, making stops at Cathedral Preparatory School and Seminary, Elmhurst; Immaculate Conception Center, Douglaston; Xaverian H.S., Bay Ridge;, and St. Thomas Aquinas, Flatlands, where Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio celebrated Mass to conclude the relic’s pilgrimage.

“Freezin’ for a Reason” was the fifth annual polar bear plunge hosted at Jacob Riis Park in Rockaway, March 23. Money was being raised for Special Olympics New York. Many of the athletes themselves came out to brace the water. With the help of their family, friends and supporters, $32,117 dollars were raised.
