Hall of Fame Coach Is Honored by Holy Name

In his 30-year tenure as a college basketball coach, Pete Gillen racked up numerous hall of fame honors. He was recently honored here in Brooklyn by the Holy Name Foundation.

First Team Honors for St. Joe’s Tennis Star

Denise Trerotola, a sophomore tennis player at St. Joseph’s College Brooklyn, Clinton Hill, was named to the Skyline Women’s Tennis All-Conference First Team.

McClancy Baseball Stars Sign On for College

Four varsity baseball players at Msgr. McClancy H.S., East Elmhurst, signed national letters of intent during a special ceremony Nov. 10 at the school to announce where they would be continuing their careers in college.

St. Stan’s Battles Breast Cancer

Over 30 CYO teams from Brooklyn and Queens entered the “Battle Against Breast Cancer” tournament. All proceeds were donated to charity organizations researching breast cancer.

To ring in the new sports season, Queens Deanery No. 5 celebrated a Catholic Youth Organization Mass on Saturday, Oct. 22 at Holy Family, Flushing.
