Around The School Bell: Vocation Day at St. Saviour H.S.

Freshmen and sophomores from St. Saviour High School, Park Slope, participated in Vocation Day.

The first speaker was Father Sean Suckiel, the Director for Vocations for the diocese. He spoke about his childhood and how he ended up going to the seminary.

Sister Maria Filotea Rivera, SSVM, spoke about her life leading up to her vows to become a religious sister.

Representatives from Lay Apostolic Ministries with the Poor (LAMP),  Samantha Chestney and Lorie Coneiza, spoke about their vocation to God as Catholic missionaries with the poor in New York City.

The guest speakers held a panel at the end which allowed students to ask questions on how to recognize their own vocation. Father Sean mentioned a website called whatsmycalling.org to visit and learn more about the different vocations.
