Letters to the Editor

Acceptable Labels

Dear Editor: Alexander Trachtenberg, who died in 1966, was an American publisher of radical political books and pamphlets. He was a longtime activist in the Socialist Party of America and in the Communist Party USA. He once said that when communism came to America it would come under the label of “progressive democracy.” It will come, he said, in labels acceptable to the American people.

Many of their goals are already being accomplished. Prayer has been eliminated in our schools on the ground that it violates the principle of separation of church and state. Our Constitution is under attack saying it is out of step with modern needs. Our Founding Fathers are being labeled as racists. The teaching of American History as we know it is being rewritten to suit their propaganda – doing away with the family unit by promoting porn in magazines and motion pictures, radio and T.V.; presenting homosexuality and promiscuity as normal and healthy.

Abortion is legal in some states up to delivery and even a baby born alive after the attempted abortion does not have to receive life-saving assistance. Our colleges and even high schools are indoctrinating our young people with leftist ideas. President Donald Trump is no saint. Neither is he a career politician. Would have been so much easier for him if he were not the president. I support him and thank God that he was elected. And, yes, I agree that to give individuals who are not legal citizens of this country the same rights as American citizens does devalue our citizenship.

Our freedom of speech to express our ideas and thoughts is also under attack.
